At its I/O 2015 conference, Google announced the new iteration of its smartphone OS, Android M. As promised, its developer preview is available to download for the Nexus 5, 6, 9 and Nexus Player.
Android M brings in a lot of usability improvements including streamlined permissions handling, new App Links which associate your app with your web domain, Android Pay, Fingerprint recognition standard, Power saving features like Doze, Now on Tap support for Google Now and a host of other features.
The Android M Developer Preview is available to download from Android Developer's website. Google has revealed a timeline of updates, the second iteration of the preview will be available late June or early July, third preview in late July with the final release coming in Q3 2015.
