Huawei's sub-brand, Honor, has just launched its new mid-range Honor 6X smartphone in the US and Europe. The announcement came at CES 2017, where Honor is also expected to show off its "epic" Honor Magic smartphone. Coming back to the Honor 6X, it starts off where the very successful Honor 5X left. A solid metal construction, bright 5.5-inch full-HD LCD display and a powerful processor on the inside which can handle a bit of multitasking.

Just to give you a round-up of specs, the Honor 6X runs on the Kirin 655 SoC based on a 16nm architecture with four cores running at 2.1GHz and another four running at 1.7GHz while Mali-T830 GPU takes care of graphics. The phone will be available in three memory + storage configurations: 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. You will get a hybrid microSD card slot no matter the variant you choose. It is powered by a 3340 mAh battery which supports 2A fast charging and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1. Read More: Honor 6X Detailed Specifications and Image Gallery

But the USP of the phone is its dual camera setup at the back. Instead of a traditional single camera, the Honor 6X has a 12MP main camera along with a second 2MP camera to capture depth information. The second camera allows for variable aperture from f/0.95 to f/16 giving you a depth of field or bokeh in your shots which look quite natural. EMUI adds some more camera features like splash where you can isolate a particular color in an image while the rest is B/W. The larger 1.25-micron pixel size also helps with low light captures.

The Honor 6X will be available in the US and European regions starting January 4th. The 6X has been priced at $249.99 for the 3GB RAM variant with pre-orders starting January 4th and it will be going on sale from January 15th.

In the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Russia and other regions, the phone will be available on sale from January 4 for a price of €249. The 4GB RAM variant of the Honor 4X will be available in these regions later with an expected price of $299.99/€299.
