Coolpad in collaboration with LeEco has just launched its third smartphone, the Cool S1. Earlier the company had launched the dual-camera bearing Cool 1 and then the Cool 1C. The design of the entire Cool series of smartphones is quite similar but they do come with different specs. In terms of build, there are a few changes, the Cool S1 comes with a matte metal back in a unibody construction which means that the battery on the device is not removable. Under the hood, you will find the Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35 GHz calmly chugging along with either 4 GB or 6 GB RAM coupled with 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 530 GPU which has also received a performance boost on the higher-clocked variant. In the front, there's a 5.5-inch 1080p display (401 PPI) with just 0.1mm thin bezels covered in 2.5D curved glass.

Coming to cameras, there's a 16MP rear camera here which uses the Sony IMX298 sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens same as the OnePlus 3/3T. It can record 4K (2160p) videos at 30 FPS and slow-mo videos at 120 fps as well. For selfies, it has an 8MP front camera with a wide-angle lens. LeEco has partnered with Harman for the audio on the Cool S1, and you will also get custom AKG H18 earphones within the box. Now, one thing to note here is that there's no 3.5mm headphone jack on the Cool S1, which means that the AKG headphones would either support CDLA or need an adapter, which is being included. Circling back to the build, the Cool S1 weighs in at 168 grams and measures 151.4 x 74.7 x 7.5 mm. It runs on the LeEco's EUI 5.8 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and you get a 4070 mAh battery to feed the horses. There's support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 to juice the phone up quickly.
