Android One budget smartphones are going to be launched in India on September 15th in Google's event. Yesterday, Micromax, Karbonn and Spice teased their exclusive Android One launches. One more thing happened yesterday, Flipkart accidentally leaked the listing of the Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 smartphone priced at Rs. 6999. Although the listing is not active anymore, we still have a lot of information on the Spice Android One Dream.
Spice's Android One smartphone comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1.3 GHz quad-core Mediatek Processor (probably MT6582M) with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB native storage which is expandable with a microSD card slot. The back and front cameras are 5 MP and 2 MP respectively while you are getting a 1700 mAh battery powering the phone running Android 4.4.4 KitKat. This will be a dual-SIM smartphone as well just like the offerings from Karbonn and Micromax.
It is expected that only the design of the Android One smartphones is going to vary but overall they will feature similar specifications as per Google's directive. This will allow for faster Android updates and similar (stock) experience for budget Android buyers.
