Gionee is trying to entice Indian buyers with the humongous GPad G3 which has a 5.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display and 1.2 Ghz quad-core MT6589 processor. The paltry display resolution aside for such a large display, the GPad G3 packs a 5 megapixel primary camera with a single LED flash, and a front-facing VGA camera for video calls. There's 1 GB of RAM to keep multitasking smooth and 4 GB of internal storage which is expandable.
The specs are pretty much in line with offers from XOLO in this segment apart from the display size, but its the price which might lure buyers. The Gionee GPad G3 is available for Rs. 9699 from Snapdeal. If it would have had an HD resolution display we might have even considered it as a viable alternative, but a 5.5-inch display a meager FWVGA resolution doesn't seem to fit the bill in any use case.
