Gionee today launched the S Plus in India featuring a USB Type-C port, a first in this price segment. Apart from that it features a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display running on the 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC with 3GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage and Android 5.1 Lollipop running the show.
The Gionee S Plus has been priced at Rs. 16,999 which under-cuts the OnePlus X in terms of pricing. The S Plus gets 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing cameras. It is a dual-SIM 4G LTE capable device with a 3150 mAh battery with support for fast charging over its USB Type-C port.
Timir Bahan Acharyya, GM - Gionee India had this to say about the new launch:
“In today’s fast paced time, the consumer needs and desires are evolving and they don’t want to compromise on the looks nor the specs of the device. Hence to bridge in the gap, we have introduced the all new S Plus especially in India this Diwali to meet all the expectations that our consumers are asking for. In fact, the all new S Plus is equipped with new features like Face Unlock that would help consumers unlock there device in less than a second”.
There's some cool tech inside the phone like immersive touch, rumble effect with multiple vibrators while gaming alongwith something called 3D vibration. Although it all sounds great on paper, its something that needs to be felt.
The Gionee S Plus will be available starting first week of November in dark blue, white and golden colors priced at Rs. 16,999.
