Google Allo

Google Allo was one of the two messaging apps announced at I/O 2016. While Google Duo has been available for some time, there hasn't been any word on Allo. Pre-registrations for the app had been open for quite a while now and now according to Evan Blass, we finally have a release date - September 21.

So the wait is almost over to try Google's new uber messaging app. Now, to sign up for the service you would have to use your phone number instead of the normal Google way using your email address, since this service is deeply tied to your phone contacts similar to WhatsApp and iMessage.

With the market already crowded with several messaging apps, there are a lot more people loyal to Google's services and Android who would love to try the service out. Duo has already crossed more than 10 million installs since its launch just a month ago.

Coming back to Google Allo, it coming with Google search built in where you can query anything to @google to get a web search result. It has an incognito mode as well, where you chats are not saved. Based on your conversations and deep learning, Allo can also suggest replies like "cute dog" on being sent an image of a dog or "congratulations" when sent a graduation image.

The company had also commissioned independent artists to make stickers for the app which should be available when it launches tomorrow. However, rollout is expected to be staged, so all regions will not get the app on the same day.
