Google Duo Launched

Announced back at I/O, Google's video calling app Duo is now finally available in the Play Store and the Apple App Store. The simple one to one video calling app was announced with another messaging app Allo which hasn't been launched yet.

Like WhatsApp, Duo uses your phone number to set up and then lets you connect with people on your contact list. Duo has been built from the ground up to make video calling simple. There's no group calling or conference options, you just connect to one person from your contacts list. One of the highlighting features of the messaging service is that you can see a preview of who is calling even before you pick up the call, dubbed Knock Knock.

Google says, this makes video calling more spontaneous and welcoming. The app also works on slower networks and can switch between WiFi and cellular networks if you don't have a stable line without breaking the connection. You can download Duo for your Android smartphone or your iPhone from the links below.

The app has begun rolling out, it would be available everywhere within the next few days.
