Although HTC said it is going to miss its 90-day promise to update all HTC One (M8) to Lollipop, users in India are getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update just a day shy of the deadline. The update comes in at 574.14 MB and is available over-the-air (OTA). The Lollipop update for the M8 has already made it to Europe but at a much heftier size of 780 MB.
The software version for Android 5.0 gets a bump to 4.18.720.8 and brings with its a new lockscreen with notifications support, re-designed app-switcher (Recent Apps), pull-down quick settings and a lot more. Although Sense UI 6.0 retains much of its usual flare. Al always, charge your phone to atleast 50% and download the update over Wi-Fi.
HTC has promised that it will update all One M8 devices to Android 5.0 Lollipop within 90 days, and the Developer Edition, Google Play Edition as well as unlocked variants have already got their updates but its the carrier subsidized devices in the US that are still to get a taste. According to HTC, there are few minor bugs which need to be addressed, but no timeframe has been provided.
