Huawei launches 4 affordable smartphones in India starting at Rs. 5,499

Huawei is planning to strengthen its retail presence in India with 4 new offerings in the country. The new affordable line-up includes the Huawei Y336, Y541, Y625 and G620S. All these devices in the G &Y series are priced between Rs. 5,499 and Rs. 9,499. Huawei will continue with its dual brand strategy in India, where the Honor series will continue selling online while the Huawei branded smartphones will be available through retail channels.


Huawei will be rolling out its entire line-up to 1000 multi-brand retail outlets of Croma, Reliance Digital, Sangeetha Retail and The Mobile Store in major cities like Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and others. in the next 4-8 weeks. Huawei is betting big on its retail+online stratery all the while being bullish about its new portfolio which boasts of better cameras, and solid hardware across the board.


The new impetus from Huawei shows the company's commitment towards India. P. Sanjeev, Director Sales of Huawei India, had this to say about the new launch:

To reach out to our consumers in key markets, Huawei range would be available through a strong distribution network in offline retail beginning with a 1000 stores roll out in the next 4-8 weeks. For the brand new series, we will be strengthening our presence with traditional multi-brand retailers and by partnering with top modern trade players such as Croma, Reliance Digital, Sangeetha Retail and The Mobile Store in key cities like Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai amongst others.

Allen Wang, President of Consumer Business Group, Huawei was also elated at launching the Huawei Brand series in India:

After the global success in the first half of 2015 with our smartphones sales crossing 50 million units, making us global number 3, we are excited to launch our “Huawei Brand” series in India. The good news is that the new series will be available through the retail route where our customers can experience the products first hand.
