HUAWEI has launched its latest flagship smartphones the HUAWEI P50 and P50 Pro at an online event, as they promised. The HUAWEI P50 has a flat 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the Pro model has a 6.6-inch FHD+ OLED curved screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both these have a 1.07 billion color display with support 1,440Hz PWM dimming and has a punch-hole screen with a 13MP front camera where the Pro model also has a 100-degree field of view and autofocus.
Both phones are run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G processor, while the Pro model also comes with Kirin 9000 4G processor in China. There are no details if the company will launch a 5G model. The P50 series features a new XD Fusion Pro filter system, which can improve the light input and dynamic range performance of the device.
Coming to the cameras, the P50 has a triple rear camera setup where a 50MP primary camera along with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle and a 12MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS. The P50 Pro model has retained the primary and ultra-wide cameras and also adds a 40MP black and white camera and uses a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with up to 200x digital zoom. There is also a laser autofocus module and a ten-channel multi-spectral sensor, also DCI-P3 shooting.
These are powered by 4100mAh and 4360mAh batteries that support 66W fast charging, while the P50 Pro also comes with 50W wireless charging. But, the company says that the P50 doesn’t come with a cable and charger in the box.

Pricing and Availability -
The HUAWEI P50 comes in Golden Black, Cocoa Gold, and Pearl White colors, and It will be available from September. The HUAWEI P50 Pro comes in Golden Black, Cocoa Gold, Pearl White, and Charm Pink colors, and the Kirin versions will be available from August 12th in China and pre-order has started. The Snapdragon 888 4G version will not go on sale until December this year.

The company also introduced the top-end 12GB RAM with 512GB SD888 Collector’s Edition with Kirin 9000 in Golden Black costs 8488 yuan (US$ 1314 / Rs. 97,600 approx.) and the Dynamic Sky Blue variant, a new dynamic colorway with motion back panel costs 7988 yuan (US$ 1,235 / Rs. 91,850 approx.). These will go on sale in September. Both the phones will be available globally, but the launch dates have not been announced yet.
