Indian grads from Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Kharagpur have sent an open letter to Sundar Pichai, head of Android at Google to name the next version of Android which will support the moniker L as "Ladoo", a sweet in the form of round balls. Another campaign from the IIT wants the next version to be called "Lassi", which is a thick yoghurt based drink.
That's not all, they have also started an online campaign to support their cause for recognition of India's love for Android. The campaign also revealed that "KajuKatli", another Indian sweet made with cashews was suggested to Larry Page and Andy Rubin by sending them a box pack of these sweets. Next stop, crazy town.
It seems Google has opened a can of worms, when it decided to partner up with Nestle for Android 4.4 KitKat, now everybody thinks they can have a shot. So, do you support Ladoo for Android or can you think of a better brand to associate? How about Android Lucky Charms?
