Jolla raises almost a million dollars for its crowd-funded Jolla Tablet

Jolla released its first mobile device last year running Sailfish OS which is a take on Android. Jolla as a company comprises of former Nokia employees and being a small company, this time they took to crowd-funding for their next project, the Jolla Tablet.

The goal was to raise $380,000 in 21 days, and much to the company's delight that was reached within a few hours. Moreover, the amount has now crossed $883,000 on IndieGoGo which is really impressive. The first batch of 2000 tablets is already sold out and everyone who contributed more than $189 will get their Jolla tablet next year.

Now there are another 2000 tablets which are up for grabs as the funding is still going on. Spec-wise, the Jolla Tablet features a 7.9-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels, 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage running Sailfish OS.
