Pre-bookings for the LG G5 to begin tomorrow, May 21 in India through Flipkart online or at LG Brand shops.


LG G5 was supposed to launch in India by Q2 2015, and it seems LG is staying true to its promise. The company will start pre-bookings for the device starting tomorrow on Flipkart and LG Brand Stores. If you pre-book the LG G5 before May 30th you will also get the LG Cam Plus module for free. At present there is no confirmation on pricing.


Coming to specs, the LG G5 has a 5.3-inch Quad-HD display with an always-on feature which lights up only the necessary area of the display to show time, notifications without the need to turn the display on. It is powered by the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor with 4GB RAM, 32GB storage running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

LG has packed a dual-camera setup at the back with a 16MP main camera and 8MP secondary camera with a 135-degree wide-angle lens. Accompanying them is an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. You also have a fingerprint sensor here, support for 4G LTE, dual-band WiFi, GPS, NFC and a USB Type-C port with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for the 2800 mAh battery which is removable.


The LG G5 is one of the first consumer devices available with a modular design. At MWC LG showed off its companion modules for the G5 which include a camera grip (CAM Plus) and a B&O audio module with a built-in DAC.


Coming back to availability, the LG G5 comes in silver, titan, gold and pink colors but there is no word on exactly when and at what price will it be available in India. But if we had to venture a guess, since the pre-booking period ends on May 30th, the G5 may officially be available in June 1st week.
