LG Electronics (LG) has introduced its 2026 LG gram laptop lineup at CES 2026 in the United States. The latest generation continues the brand’s emphasis on ultra-lightweight design while adding a newly engineered material, enhanced AI functionality, and expanded cross-device connectivity.
The 2026 LG gram series blends portability, durability, AI-powered productivity, and improved security across a range of form factors.
Aerominum Material Improves Strength Without Adding Weight -
The new LG gram models feature Aerominum, a magnesium–aluminium alloy commonly used in the aerospace industry. This material combines magnesium’s lightness with aluminium’s strength, delivering improved durability while preserving the gram series’ ultra-portable identity.
According to LG, scratch resistance has increased by over 35 percent compared to previous generations. The chassis meets U.S. military-grade durability standards while remaining exceptionally light. Aerominum also incorporates an aeroplate structure and brushed metallic finish, offering a refined look without added bulk. Using LG’s lightweight structural design, the 16-inch LG gram Pro weighs just 1,199 grams.
Dual AI System With On-Device and Cloud Processing -
Selected 2026 LG gram models feature a dual AI architecture that combines on-device AI with cloud-based AI services. These devices support Microsoft Copilot+ PC, along with LG’s Gram Chat On-Device AI.

The on-device AI is powered by EXAONE 3.5, a small-scale large language model (sLLM) developed by LG AI Research. It enables AI features to function offline, supporting tasks such as document summarisation, translation, search, and contextual responses.
Key on-device AI features include -
- My Archive, which intelligently searches and summarises files within user-selected folders by understanding intent and context
- Time Travel, which recalls past work history and assists in recovering accidentally deleted data
Copilot+ PC support also enables advanced features such as real-time video subtitle translation and AI-powered image generation.
Enhanced Connectivity and Security -
The 2026 LG gram lineup expands cross-device connectivity through an upgraded gram Link feature. gram Link now supports Android, iOS, and webOS devices, enabling wireless file sharing, photo transfers, screen mirroring, and extended displays.
Support for webOS allows users to connect LG TVs, smart monitors, and projectors running webOS 26, including existing devices receiving software updates. This enables wireless content sharing and multi-display setups for meetings and presentations.
On the security front, LG introduces Secure Lock via LG ThinQ. If a laptop is lost or stolen, users can remotely lock, disable, or erase the device. The system can immobilise the laptop and initialise the operating system to safeguard personal data.
LG gram Pro 17 (17Z90UR): Lightest 17-inch RTX Laptop -
The LG gram Pro 17 integrates a 17-inch display into a chassis similar in size to standard 16-inch laptops.
Key specifications include:
- 17-inch WQXGA (2560 × 1600) LCD Screen
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU
- 8GB GDDR7 graphics memory
LG says the GPU is designed for graphics-intensive workloads, content creation, and gaming. The 17Z90UR model will be available exclusively in North America.
LG gram Pro 16 (16Z90U / 16Z95U): Ultra-Light Dual AI Laptop -
The LG gram Pro 16 is positioned as the lightest 16-inch laptop in its category to support both on-device and cloud-based AI.
Key features include:
- 16-inch WQXGA+ (2880 × 1800) OLED display
- Intel Core Ultra processors (16Z90U-K)
- AMD Ryzen AI 400 series processors (16Z95U)
The OLED panel offers high contrast and sharp visuals for productivity and creative workflows. LG provides both Intel and AMD configurations, allowing users to choose between graphics-focused performance or improved power efficiency.
Battery, Charging, and Reliability -
The 16-inch LG gram Pro houses a 77Wh battery, offering up to 27 hours of video playback based on LG’s internal testing. Fast charging delivers over 9 hours of usage with just a 30-minute charge.
All models have passed seven U.S. military-grade reliability tests, including shock, dust, extreme temperatures, vibration, salt fog, and low-pressure conditions.

LG will begin rolling out the 2026 LG gram lineup in South Korea starting January 6 via LGE.com, with availability expanding to additional sales channels later.
The initial lineup includes:
