And did I mention you have an 8 MP rear auto-focus camera with LED flash at the back and a 2 MP front camera. That’s not all powering the phone is a 2000 mAh battery. The build of the device is excellent, it has a matte back-cover which helps to grip it better. Moreover, its just 8.4mm thick and weighs in at 134 grams which definitely hits the sweet spot.

Commenting on the launch Vineet Taneja, CEO Micromax Informatics Ltd. said:

Around 70mn Indians are upgrading to smartphone annually driven by the need to get connected to mobile internet. If we look at the current scenario, only 2mn smartphones sold monthly are under Rs 5,000/- vs. over 10mn feature phones which presents a huge opportunity to upgrade through a new offering. Today’s launch reaffirms our commitment to make technology accessible for everyone, and introducing more people to the best of the connected world.

Coming to availability, Micromax has chosen to opt for flash sales instead of its usual online plus retail model. You will be able to register for the Canvas Spark starting tomorrow April 22nd and it will be available on April 29th.
