Motorola Moto E Gen 2

Motorola launched the Moto E (2015) yesterday with a 4G LTE capable variant and a 3G variant. It seems we in India would have to make do with the 3G dual-SIM Moto E (2nd Gen) priced at Rs. 6999. A promo video was uploaded a few hours back which shows the price and exclusivity of the new Moto E to Flipkart.

Here are the specs of the 2nd-Gen Moto E (2015) 3G Dual-SIM:

  • 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) Display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection
  • 1.2 GHz Quad-core Processor, Snapdragon 200,
  • 400 MHz Adreno 302 GPU
  • 1GB RAM, 8GB Internal Memory, Expandable with MicroSD
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • 5MP AF Rear Camera, VGA Front Camera
  • Dimensions: 66.8 × 129.9 × 5.2 – 12.3 mm
  • Weight: 145 grams
  • 3G Dual-SIM, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio
  • 2390mAh battery

Its a bit disappointing that we won't be getting the Snapdragon 410 4G LTE variant of the Moto E in India, but it makes sense given the state of 4G in the country. Plus the 3G variant gives the new Moto E (2015) an excellent and compelling price point of Rs. 6999. At present there is no word as to when it would be available, but we would be waiting to get our hands on it as soon as it does.
