Moto X 2013 Lollipop

Motorola has started full soak test of Android 5.1 Lollipop update on the Moto X 2013 (1st Gen). The company has been working on it for quite some time. There were some issues with performance on the older Android 5.0 build which seems to have been ironed out this time around.

David Schuster, Motorola's Software product manager just revealed in a Google+ post that they have begun full soak test for Lollipop update to the 1st Gen Moto X in France and Germany, if all goes well it will be made available within a week. He further added that US and Brazil are up next on Motorola's radar for the retail variant available in these markets. Again after a week, all the unlocked Moto X 2013 variants available should get the update.

Motorola is working with various carriers as well to accelerate the update timeline, but it would take slightly longer for locked/carrier devices to get the update. Its great that Motorola is still gearing up to update an almost 2 year old device and working with carriers on it as well.
