Update - Motorola has officially announced the debut of the Edge 50 Pro smartphone in India, scheduled for April 3rd. Alongside this announcement, the company has divulged additional features of the phone, which include the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC.
Furthermore, Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 50 Pro will come equipped with Android 14 and will receive three OS updates. It will feature the Hello UI, along with support for 125W wired charging, facilitated by a 68W charger included in the box, as well as 50W wireless charging capabilities.
Earlier - Motorola India has officially announced the impending launch of the Edge 50 Pro smartphone, following rumors and teasers. The teaser provides insights into the design and select specifications of the device. Sporting the tagline "Intelligence meets Art," the phone will be available for purchase on Flipkart, as well as through offline retail channels, according to the company.
Confirmed features include a groundbreaking 6.7-inch 1.5K 144Hz curved pOLED display, validated by Pantone for the first time globally. It promises up to 2000 nits peak brightness, HDR 10+ support, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Additionally, users can customize their style with Generative AI theming.
The device will boast a 50MP rear camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera with macro capability, and a 10MP telephoto camera offering 50x hybrid zoom. Camera features such as AI adaptive stabilization, autofocus tracking, AI photo enhancement engine, and tilt mode are also included. Motorola claims it is the world's first Pantone-validated camera, capturing true colors accurately.
Available in three Pantone-curated colors, the phone is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with 12GB of RAM. It is expected to feature IP68 ratings and house a 4,500mAh battery supporting 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Motorola India has also hinted at a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3-powered phone, likely the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion. The Motorola Edge 50 series smartphones are anticipated to be unveiled at an event in New Delhi on April 3rd.
