New Moto X Gen 2 official with 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801, 13 MP camera priced at $499.99

Motorola Mobility has just gone official with their flagship device, the new Moto X (Gen 2). As far as specifications go, it features a top of the line Snapdragon 801 quad-core chipset clocked at 2.5 GHz with 2 GB RAM, 5.2-inch full-HD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 423 PPI running Android 4.4.4 KitKat. There's 16/ 32 GB onboard storage which is non-expandable. At present there is no word on pricing in India and it will be available later this month. In the US the Moto X has been priced at $499.99 for the 16 GB variant which roughly translates to about Rs. 30,200.


In terms of build, it comes with an aluminium shell instead of all-plastic like the previous-gen Moto X.

 

The cameras too has been upgraded on the flagship Moto X to 13 megapixels with flash, 4K video recording and a 2 megapixels front-camera. There are dual front-facing speakers this time around and the new Moto X makes do with a 2300 mAh battery which promises to give all-day battery life.


If you compare it to the previous Moto X, it featured a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED display, Snapdragon dual-core processor with 2 GB RAM and a choice of 16/32 GB storage with 2200 mAh battery. Even the original Moto X runs Android 4.4 KitKat.
