Nokia came out guns blazing at the Nokia World conference in Abu Dhabi today. The company showed the new Asha lineup, the Lumia 1520 & Lumia 1320 Windows phones and the Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet. This is the first tablet from the Finnish phonemaker which recently sold its devices and services unit to Microsoft. The Lumia 2520 Windows tablet features 10.1 1080p display and by its looks it seems like a scaled up Lumia 720 which is notsuch a bad thing. It just goes to show the strength of Nokia's industrial design which can be adapted to any form factor.

Microsoft too recently launched the Surface 2 with updated Windows RT, which is what runs on the Nokia Lumia 2520. Its powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset with 2 GB RAM. Windows RT 8.1 simply flies on the device and you get Office apps pre-installed which is the deal with all Windows RT devices. Nokia has created its own Power keyboard which adds a keyboard, trackpad, 2 USB ports and boosts the battery life by 5 hours.

Although Nokia may have given up on its devices division, Microsoft may have just turned the tides towards Windows Phone is a very convincing way.
