OnePlus has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15R in India, as promised. This platform underpins OxygenOS 16, which brings a new wave of AI-powered enhancements focused on smoother interactions, intelligent language assistance, and improved imaging capabilities. The update also deepens integration with Google’s Gemini AI, enabling users to link with Mind Space to retrieve and act on previously saved information.
In addition, the new Plus Mind feature is positioned as a personalized, context-aware “second brain.” Built on Android 16, OxygenOS 16 will receive four major OS updates and six years of security patches, matching the update policy of the OnePlus 15.
Display -
The device features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 60Hz to 165Hz, including 144Hz and 165Hz modes optimized for gaming. A dedicated touch-response chip enables an ultra-fast 3200Hz touch sampling rate, ensuring instant and precise input recognition.
The screen delivers a 450 PPI pixel density and supports a wide brightness range, scaling from a peak of 1,800 nits down to 2 nits by default, or as low as 1 nit with the Reduce White Point feature enabled. According to OnePlus, the display is certified with TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0.
Performance -
This is the first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. Thermal management is handled by the 360° Cryo-Velocity Cooling System, which includes a 5,704mm² 3D vapor chamber for core heat dissipation, an aerospace-grade aerogel insulation layer to limit surface heat transfer, and a white graphite back cover for even thermal distribution.
The phone also integrates a dedicated Wi-Fi chip for more stable and intelligent connectivity, maintaining strong performance even through walls or floors. For Indian users, OnePlus has collaborated with TP-LINK to reduce Wi-Fi congestion and minimize in-game latency, delivering smoother online gaming on crowded networks.
Camera -
The camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP autofocus front camera. The rear camera supports 4K video recording at 120fps and is powered by the DetailMax Engine, the same advanced imaging system used in the OnePlus 15.

- Clear Night Engine - Utilizes Dual Analog Gain to eliminate timing gaps between exposures, resulting in brighter, cleaner, and more natural-looking low-light photos with reduced noise.
Design and Durability -
The OnePlus 15R is available in three color options -
- Charcoal Black - A stealthy, understated finish with a glass back.
- Mint Breeze - A fresh, light green shade with a glass back.
- Electric Violet - An India-exclusive variant featuring a durable fiberglass build that delivers a bold yet refined purple finish.
The phone sports a metal frame and carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, enabling resistance to dust, water immersion up to 2 meters for 30 minutes, and high-pressure water jets at temperatures of up to 80°C, on par with the OnePlus 15.
Battery and Charging -
The OnePlus 15R is equipped with a large 7,400mAh battery, designed for long-term endurance. OnePlus claims the battery will retain at least 80% of its capacity after four years of use. Charging is handled by 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging.
The battery also incorporates Silicon Nanostack technology, with a 15% silicon content in the anode, aimed at delivering higher energy density and improved efficiency.
