It hasn’t been long since Google released Android 8.0. In fact the Nexus devices are yet to get the update. However, OnePlus has released a beta build of Android 8.0 Oreo update for the OnePlus 3 for its closed beta group. OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5 users are yet to receive the beta build.

OnePlus is known for its close to stock user interface. Not only does the near stock interface make the performance smooth, but it also allows the company to release the update much quicker.

Minor bugs are expected in the build that was released for closed beta group members, a stable version is expected by mid-September and the public beta by the end of September. According to users of the closed beta group, the Oreo update does have some connectivity bugs including nonfunctional NFC, buggy WiFi, unstable hotspot, and wonky Bluetooth.

OnePlus may just be the first company to roll out Android Oreo to its flagship smartphones just after Google. While LG has generally taken the cake for Android updates, this time we haven't heard about an Oreo update for the G6.

Samsung has been quite mum about Android updates, and we can expect it to arrive sometime in March next year for the Galaxy S8 and Note8. Motorola generally has a good track record for updates on its flagship devices, let's see when the Moto Z and Moto G5 series gets an Oreo update.
