OnePlus it seems is going to break its promise of delivering Android 5.0 Lollipop for the OnePlus One within 90 days of Google making the source public. This will be the company's first major update to their flagship killer handset and things aren't looking good.
Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus today said that the One will get Android Lollipop only in March without any specific date or clarifications on the delay. Although OnePlus has been in rough waters recently with Cyanogen over exclusivity in India and has already announced its own Oxygen OS ROM.
We atleast expected CyanogenMod 12S (Lollipop) to make it to the OnePlus on time even if the delay to Oxygen OS was understandable. But both will be delayed by a month. Once the updates are available you will be able to choose between CM 12S or Oxygen OS to run on your OnePlus One, but if you do choose to go the Oxygen OS route, your device would need to be wiped clean.
