Xiaomi has officially expanded its REDMI Note lineup in China with the launch of the REDMI Note 17 and REDMI Note 17 Pro. Both smartphones focus on delivering large batteries and immersive displays, while the Pro model adds premium durability, faster charging, and a long-term battery warranty.
REDMI Note 17: Large Display and Battery-Centric Design
The standard REDMI Note 17 features the brand's first 7-inch ultra-large OLED display, designed for users who prefer a bigger screen for entertainment and productivity. The panel offers a resolution of 2396 × 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness.
The display supports the DCI-P3 wide color gamut, delivers a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and features a 2160Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate for faster touch response. Additional features include an in-display fingerprint scanner and a dedicated Glove Mode for convenient operation while wearing gloves.
REDMI Note 17 Pro: Premium Design and Rugged Durability
The REDMI Note 17 Pro adopts a premium design with a four-micro-curved wraparound frame and a redesigned rectangular rear camera module. The phone measures 8.46mm in thickness and weighs 226g.
Built for enhanced durability, the smartphone carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, protecting against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.
On the front, it features a 6.83-inch 1.5K display with a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. The panel integrates Xiaomi's Green Mountain eye protection technology and can reduce brightness to as low as 1 nit in dark environments for improved viewing comfort.
Performance, Camera, and Battery
The REDMI Note 17 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Mobile Platform and packs a massive 9,000mAh battery. It supports 67W wired fast charging along with 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the device to charge compatible accessories and smartphones.
For photography, the smartphone features a 50MP primary rear camera.
Five-Year Battery Protection Program
To promote long-term battery reliability, Xiaomi is offering a five-year battery warranty program for first-time buyers of the REDMI Note 17 Pro.
- Years 1–4: Users are eligible for a free battery replacement if the battery health drops below 80%.
- Year 5: If battery health falls below 80%, Xiaomi will provide a free upgrade to a higher-capacity replacement battery.
