Samsung Galaxy E7 was stuck on Android 4.4 KitKat since launch, but it seems the overlords at Samsung thought of deeming the E7 worthy of atleast one update. Users of Galaxy E7 in India are reporting that their handsets are being graced with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with an OTA update.

The update carries the build PDA E700HXXU1BOJ7 and is specifically for the Galaxy E7 SM-E700H model. After reports that the E series will not be getting update, the wider rollout is both a sign of relief and trust in Samsung supporting its mid-range tier.
