Samsung Galaxy S6 Microsoft Apps

Just a while back Microsoft and Samsung settled their lawsuit over Android royalties. Both companies decided on a truce, terms of which were not revealed however, the court documents revealed that Microsoft made $1 billion in patent licencing royalties from Samsung in 2013.

Things are beginning to clear up now. It seems the terms of the agreement between the two were inclusion of Microsoft apps and services on Samsung's Galaxy line of products which are now there for the world to see on the flagship Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6. There is a dedicated Microsoft Apps folder on the Galaxy S6 with Skype, OneDrive and OneNote apps already pre-installed on the device. Furthermore, Samsung is also offering 115 GB of OneDrive storage to Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge buyers.

It seems that both Samsung, which has been trying to move away from Google's grip over Android and its rival Windows Phone maker Microsoft have found a common ground. There were also rumored that Microsoft Office Mobile would come pre-installed on Samsung devices as well, but that has not materialized yet. Microsoft may have just found the Trojan horse it was looking for to enter the mobile space dominated by Android in its partnership with Samsung.
