T-Mobile has started rolling out a 164MB update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge (T-Mobile Carrier specific models only), which enables FM Radio on both smartphones.
Moreover, the official changelog published also states that there is a fix for the Power and Volume keys misbehaving at times alongwith “various system improvements.”
FM radio on smartphones has sort of faded away with the growth of streaming platforms which also offer customized stations to play music continuously, but its still quite welcome especially where data access is not available. The update also adds Google’s May Security Patch.
T-Mobile last year committed to support FM radio chip in their phones, It’s good to see that one of the major US Carrier is sticking to its word. There is no word weather this functionality will remain exclusive to T-Mobile handsets only or whether this would also come to all Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Units around the world.
