In its Global Mi Phone launch event, Xiaomi also launched the Mi Band fitness tracker in India priced at just Rs. 999. The Mi Band is not just a fitness tracker but also a sleep tracker and requires an Android device to be tethered via Bluetooth 4.0 LE to show captured information, there is no display on the Mi band.
However, there are three LED's which indicate missed calls, and notifications. There is an alarm feature on the Mi Band where it vibrates subtly to wake you up. You can setup the Mi band as a trusted device to unlock your phone when it is in proximity. The Mi band comes with a bevy of sensors which track your steps and activity throughout the day, its supposed to be worn all day long, all the time with its IP67 rating for dust and water protection, alongwith a 30 days battery life.
The Xiaomi Mi Band has been priced at Rs. 999 and will be available exclusively through Mi.com. There will be an initial trial run with 1000 units to be sold for just Rs. 1, you can sign-up for the program on April 28th. You would also be able to purchase different colored bands for your Mi Band.
