Xiaomi, right after the much-anticipated launch of the Mi A1 (Android One) smartphone, has launched the trimmed down 32 GB variant of Mi Max 2 here in India. It will stay alongside the 64 GB variant of the same smartphone in the market.

The phablet, priced at Rs. 12999 will hit the market on September 20. You can get one for yourself from Amazon.in, Mi Store, and Mi home stores. On Twitter, the company revealed that they are going to sell the device at this introductory price. The actual price as per the company is Rs. 14999.

Irrespective of the variants, the Mi Max 2 features a 6.44-inch full HD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Underneath the hood, it packs a Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM. Even though the smartphone runs on MIUI 8 based on Android Nougat, Xiaomi promises MIUI 9 update in the upcoming months.

If you are a camera buff, the Mi Max 2 sports a single 12-megapixel shooter on the back with phase detection autofocus and f/2.2 aperture. You will have no issues in capturing 4K videos with it as well. Up front, the device has a 5 MP camera for selfies.

One field where the Mi Max 2 excels at is the battery. Bearing a 5300 mAh battery, it can provide you with the power for two whole days. Xiaomi even promises 31 days of standby time.

The Mi Max 2 will go on sale on September 20 by 12 PM. It is a solid option at this price point if you are looking for a large-screen smartphone.
