Xiaomi is holding a huge event at the Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi where we will witness the launch of a new product. This will be a global launch event, first to be held outside China. The company is expected to announce a cheaper variant of the Mi 4, dubbed the Mi 4i (i is Coming, from Xiaomi’s invite) which will forego the metal build of its costlier variant for plastic.
Specs will also be downgraded to an octa-core Snapdragon 615 with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage. You will have a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front facing camera here. Xiaomi may also launch the Redmi 2 special edition in India at the event which comes with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM. There are quite a lot more smartphones Xiaomi may decide to launch in India including its new flagship Mi Note, but we’ll have to wait for the event to start.
Xiaomi is calling in the big guns to India. Lei Jun (CEO & Founder), Bin Lin (President & Co-Founder), and Hugo Barra (VP Xiaomi Global) will all be present here at the event to meet Mi India fans and press.
