Creating Playlists on YouTube can be really painful, so Google introduced YouTube Mix back in 2013 for the web which auto generated a playlist of your favorite artists best known songs when you searched for them. Well, Google has now flipped the switch and YouTube Mix is now available for Android as well.
YouTube Mix is basically a list of the most popular tracks of the artist your searched for. It generally shows up videos from Vevo. After you search for the artist, the Mix results would show up at the top of the search results. You don't need to update the YouTube app, its a server side change.
