YU Televentures, the new arm of Micromax launched its first smartphone Yureka last year. Following its huge success YU started teasing a new handset dubbed Project Caesar on its social media channels with a contest (#YUNameIt) to crowd source a formal name for its next smartphone.
Over 100,000 entries later, 5 names were chosen YUPHORIA, YUKNIGHT, YUNICORN, YUNITY and YOUTH. Out of which YUPHORIA was chosen as the winner. YU Yuphoria will be launched sometime in Q2 2015 running Android Lollipop based Cyanogen OS 12 possibly with a smaller display than the YU Yureka and of the AMOLED variety.
5 Random lucky winners who chose the YU Yuphoria name will get the new YU smartphone once its launched.
