Just within a few months of WhatsApp hitting the 1 Billion user mark, Facebook Messenger now has one billion people using it every month.
Messenger is now also the second most popular app on the App Store after Facebook. It has over 1 billion downloads on the Play Store and more than one billion messages are sent through Messenger every month. Facebook threw a lot of stats about its now ubiquitous Messenger platform, and the numbers would baffle you. We send more than 17 billion photos every month to our friends and 22 Million GIFs a day.
With Messenger and WhatsApp, Facebook now has two messaging services which are used by more than 1 Billion users a month. Given the interest in Messenger Bots, and new features being rolled out steadily to the platform, we don't see any drop in its popularity.
