Google has made it easier to locate your lost device, just search "Find my phone" and sign in to locate your phone or even ring it. You can even just say "Find my phone" in Chrome and Google will do the rest.
Although, Android Device Manager is nothing new, but the new functionality added to Google search definitely makes it easier to use. It works great on a PC and for mobiles you would need to have the latest version of Google app installed.
