Update - Google is planning to launch its latest mid-range 5G samrtphone the Pixel 6a in May this year, according to the reliable OnePlus leakster Max Jambor on Twitter. This phone is already surfaced online with key specifications and the design of the Pixel 6a. Back in November, the phone surfaced on the Google Camera app with camera specs and the processor details.

Earlier - last week, Google Pixel 6a renders surfaced online that show a 6.2-inch flat OLED screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner, rear camera design, metal frame, and a glass back panel. Now, the specifications of the phone have surfaced in a Google Camera app, which shows the camera specs and the processor details of the phone.

The Pixel 6a will feature the same Google Tensor GS101 chip as the Pixel 6, revealing the APK teardown, so the Pixel 6a might also feature that is present in the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro such as Google Assistant voice typing, Live HDR, and on-device translations.

Earlier rumors revealed that the phone is expected to use the same 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor as the Pixel 6, but the teardown reveals that the phone will use the 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor as the same used in the Pixel 5a. While the other camera will be the same 12MP IMX386 ultra-wide camera and the same 8MP IMX355 front-facing camera as the Pixel 6.

The dimensions of the phone are 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.7~10.4mm (including camera bump) which makes it slightly thicker than the 5a, so it could feature a bigger battery as compared to the 4,680mAh battery in the Pixel 5a.

We should wait to know more details about the phone and the full specifications including the launch countries. We know that the Pixel 6 series will not launch in India including some other countries, so might be the Pixel 6a to be introduced along with these countries.
