HUAWEI has launched its latest flagship smartphone in the Mate 50 Series in China, which comes with a bunch of new features and technology as well as some long-standing functionalities. The HUAWEI is celebrating its tenth anniversary for the Mate smartphones this year. All three devices run on the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (4G) processor, while the Mate 50E has a Snapdragon 778G 4G processor, and the devices are preinstalled with the firm’s latest HarmonyOS 3 operating system.
HUAWEI Mate 50 has a 6.7-inch OLED screen FHD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and supports HDR and HDR Vivid. The HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro and RS have a 6.74-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 1440Hz PWM dimming and also supports HDR Vivid and 3D View spectral modes.
The HUAWEI Mate 50 Series features its own specially developed XMAGE camera imaging system. The firm says that XMAGE is focused on light, devices, electricity, and computing. The new imaging system produces photos with vivid colors, fine detail, etc.
HUAWEI Mate 50 has a triple rear camera setup where a 50MP primary camera with RYYB colours and laser focus along with a 13MP extreme wide-angle camera, a 12MP periscope zoom with 100X digital zoom, and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle punch-hole front-facing camera.
The HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro and RS have a 50MP primary rear camera with variable aperture technology along with a 13 MP ultra wide-angle camera that supports macro. There is a 64MP periscope zoom featuring an RYYB color matrix and OIS, has a 100X super zoom in 50 Pro, but Mate 50 RS has a 48MP ultra-macro telephoto periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom, 100x digital zoom, and OIS. Both have a 13MP ultra-wide-angle notch design front-facing camera like the Mate 20 Pro but with slimmer bezels.
For communication, the Huawei Mate 50 Series devices are packed with satellite communication technology, which lets the users commune even without network coverage. The Mate 50 device is powered by a 4460 mAh battery, while the Mate Pro and RS versions have 4700 mAh of battery. All devices support 66W wired charging, but the Mate Pro and RS versions also support 50W wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
