iQOO Pad Pro launched with 8.8-inch 2.3K 165Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, active cooling fan

iQOO has officially launched its latest flagship tablet, the iQOO Pad Pro 8.8-inch, at a launch event in China. Positioned as a compact tablet designed primarily for gaming, it joins the company's tablet lineup following the launch of the iQOO Pad Ultra.

Core Processing and Architecture

The iQOO Pad Pro 8.8-inch is powered by a dual-chip platform comprising the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and iQOO's dedicated Q3 gaming chip. The Monster super-core engine coordinates system operations and performance allocation, dynamically distributing computing resources to handle demanding tasks.

For graphics-intensive workloads, the Q3 chip works alongside the QNSS super-rendering engine to deliver features such as 2K super-resolution, full-scene ray tracing, and lossless frame interpolation in supported games.

The tablet also incorporates several gaming-oriented enhancements, including an FPS dark-area enhancement filter, multi-finger jitter suppression, edge anti-mistouch zoning, and an ultra-sensitive gyroscope with a sampling rate of up to 500Hz.

Thermal Architecture

To maintain performance during intensive gaming sessions, the iQOO Pad Pro 8.8-inch features the Ice Dome quad-layer air-cooling system, which combines active airflow with passive heat dissipation.

• Active Cooling: The tablet features a compact 30 × 30 × 3.5 mm internal cooling fan that delivers airflow of up to 0.94 CFM, supported by dual-directional air intakes.
• Passive Heat Dissipation: Dual vapor chamber (VC) cooling plates and highly thermally conductive graphite sheets help dissipate heat across a combined area of more than 23,000 mm².
• Gaming Performance: According to internal testing, the tablet achieved an average frame rate of 60.2fps while running a large-scale open-world mobile game at ultra-high settings with the frame rate target set to 60fps.

Display

The iQOO Pad Pro features an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 93.3% screen-to-body ratio and narrow 2.65mm black borders. The panel is designed to deliver responsive controls and smooth visuals for gaming.

• Resolution and Clarity: The display offers a resolution of 2304 × 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 308 PPI.
• Refresh Rate and Touch Response: It supports a 165Hz gaming refresh rate, up to 500Hz multi-finger touch sampling, a 5000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, and a response time of less than 1ms.
• Brightness and Contrast: The panel delivers 1,600 nits of global excitation brightness, up to 4,500 nits of local peak brightness, and an 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
• Color Reproduction and Certification: It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 wide color gamut and receives factory color calibration with Æ<1. The display also supports HDR10+ and has ZREAL ultra-high-definition certification.
• Eye Care and Gaming Protection: Eye-care features include TÜV Rheinland certification, hardware-level low blue light, smart color-temperature adjustment, and bionic brightness adaptation. Game Eye Protection 3.0 adds Soothing Mode, E-Sports Mode, and Anti-Glare Protection.

Battery Capacity and Power Management

The iQOO Pad Pro 8.8-inch packs a 9,020mAh Blue Ocean battery built using fourth-generation silicon-carbon anode technology and second-generation semi-solid-state battery technology.

• Battery Specifications: The battery offers an energy density of 837Wh/L and is designed to retain at least 80% of its health after 1,200 charge-discharge cycles.
• Operating Temperature: The tablet supports stable battery discharge across temperatures ranging from -20°C to 40°C.
• Power Optimization: Direct Drive Power Supply 2.0 enables bypass charging to help reduce heat during gaming. The system also incorporates full-scenario energy-efficiency scheduling, system-level lightweighting, and intelligent battery-health preservation.
• Claimed Battery Life: iQOO claims up to 10.75 hours of continuous MOBA gaming at 60fps, up to 21 hours of short-video playback or live streaming, and up to 27 hours of offline video playback.
