Motorola moto watch ultra Launched Globally with 1.5-inch pOLED Display, Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 SoC, Polar Health Tracking, LTE

Motorola has announced its latest smartwatch based on Wear OS, the Moto Watch Ultra, a premium wearable developed in collaboration with Polar, at IFA 2026, alongside the Motorola Edge 70 Plus.

The Moto Watch Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 Platform and features a 1.5-inch OLED display with an always-on mode and up to 2,700 nits of peak brightness. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, while the 46mm stainless steel body comes with IP6820 and 5ATM water-resistance ratings.

The smartwatch supports standard 22mm third-party bands. Motorola offers silicone straps in PANTONE Black Beauty and PANTONE Mountain View, along with genuine leather options in PANTONE Black Beauty and PANTONE Nuthatch.

Battery life is rated at up to two days of active usage on a single charge with the always-on display turned off. A 15-minute quick charge can provide up to 24 hours of active use.

Polar-Powered Health and Fitness Tracking

The Moto Watch Ultra integrates Polar’s fitness algorithms for health, sleep, and activity monitoring. Its wellness-focused features include:

• Serene: Offers guided breathing exercises with real-time biofeedback, tracks the time spent across three serenity zones, and indicates whether the user maintained the optimal breathing rhythm.
• Nightly Recharge: Combines sleep quality data with autonomic nervous system (ANS) recovery measurements to show how the body recovered from the previous day.
• Sleep Plus Stages: Monitors light, deep, and REM sleep stages to generate a personalized sleep score.

For everyday activity monitoring, the smartwatch includes several dedicated features:

• Activity Goal: Creates a personalized daily activity target based on the user's profile and selected activity level.
• Activity Score: Tracks movement and exercise intensity throughout the day and compares it against the daily activity target.
• Active Intensity Zones: Classifies activity as light, moderate, or vigorous based on heart rate and movement.
• Inactivity Alert: Notifies users after extended periods of inactivity and encourages them to take an active break.
• Smart Calories: Estimates daily calorie expenditure using factors such as heart rate, wrist movement, weight, and age.
• Energy Sources: Analyzes the use of fat, carbohydrates, and protein during workouts to provide additional metabolic insights.

The watch also uses its built-in health sensors to monitor key health metrics. Its Running Coach feature provides guided running and walking workouts directly from the wrist, including real-time pacing guidance.

LTE Connectivity and Smart Features

The Moto Watch Ultra is Motorola’s first smartwatch in the Moto Watch series to feature LTE connectivity. This allows users to:

• Send text messages
• Manage notifications
• Stay connected without relying entirely on a paired smartphone

The smartwatch also supports Google Pay through Google Wallet after users add a supported payment card. For navigation and location tracking, it features dual-band GPS.

The Moto Watch Ultra runs Wear OS 6 by Google and provides access to the Google Play Store. Users can download apps including YouTube Music, Google Maps, Google Messages, and Google Gemini.

Motorola has also equipped the smartwatch with built-in Motorola Qira, making it the company’s first wearable to offer the feature on compatible Motorola and Lenovo devices. Users can raise their wrist or say “Hey Qira” to ask questions and access saved information from memory across compatible devices.
