Droid Turbo 2 Front And Back

Motorola has a new flagship, although its just for Verizon. The Droid Turbo 2 is, for lack of a better word, a turbo-charged Moto X Style. It packs a smaller 5.4-inch Quad-HD AMOLED display running on the more powerful Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 3GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32/64 GB expandable storage, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

But that's not the highlight of this device. Its a new display assembly from Motorola which has been in the works for more than 5 years now. The new display assembly is all plastic, there is no glass here and its fused with the metal frame of the device. Motorola is promising 4 years of no crack or shatter with the new Moto ShatterShield display.

The Droid Turbo 2 has an even larger battery than the Droid Maxx 2, at 3760 mAh capable of fast charging as well as wireless charging with PMA or Qi chargers. Cameras remain the same here, you have a 21MP rear and 5MP front-facing unit. There's a dual-tone LED flash at the back and a front-facing flash for selfies. You also get 4K video recording.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE support on Verizon's network, dual-band WiFi with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS with GLONASS. The Droid Turbo 2 comes with black soft grip, white soft grip, ballistic nylon and black pebbled leather options which can be customized using the Moto Maker. You can pay $624 outright for the Droid Turbo 2 off-contract or $26 for 24 months. Both the Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 will be available starting October 29th at Verizon stores as well as online.

PS: Hate that Verizon logo in front.
