Following a sequence of official teasers, London-based technology company Nothing has officially announced a new smartphone category called the “(b) Series.” Accompanied by the tagline “It’s (b)eginning,” the move marks the brand’s expansion into a new segment within its smartphone portfolio.
A dedicated Flipkart microsite for the upcoming device is already live, confirming that the smartphone will be available in the Indian market upon launch.
The New B Series Strategy
Commenting on the announcement, Nothing Co-Founder Akis Evangelidis explained the rationale behind the company’s evolving product naming structure. According to Evangelidis, the new (b) branding follows a clear hierarchy designed to simplify the lineup:
- Numbers: Denote product generations.
- Letters: Identify different product segments.
He further noted that while the A Series continues to serve as Nothing’s premium mid-range lineup beneath its flagship smartphones, the newly introduced (b) Series is intended to broaden the company’s portfolio while maintaining a clear and organized tier structure without relying heavily on traditional naming suffixes.
Nothing Phone (4b) Expected

Recent promotional content released by Nothing India, including teaser animations and a follow-up clip carrying the caption “(b)usted,” has fueled speculation that the first device under the new branding could be the highly anticipated Nothing Phone (4b). It could be launched on July 7th as per the leak teaser.
The new strategy also aligns with Nothing’s recent confirmation that it will not introduce a successor to the CMF Phone series this year, citing supply-chain pricing challenges. By bringing entry-level devices under the primary Nothing brand, the company can preserve its recognizable transparent design language while streamlining manufacturing and cost efficiencies.
Launch Timeline
Although Nothing has yet revealed an official launch date or detailed hardware specifications, the activation of the Flipkart placeholder page suggests that the smartphone's official unveiling could take place in the near future.
