Core Sensor Architecture and Dynamic Range

The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max incorporates the company's custom DeepPix sensor architecture in its 1/1.3-inch primary camera. The technology introduces three hardware-level enhancements designed to improve light collection, charge conversion, and image quality.
- Front Deep Trench Isolation (FDTI): Creates deeper physical barriers between individual pixels, increasing the available photodiode light capacity.
- Dual Vertical Transfer Gate (Dual VTG): Improves electron transfer efficiency to help minimize signal loss during image capture.
- Expanded Floating Diffusion (FD): Increases charge conversion capacity to support improved image capture.
According to OPPO, these modifications increase full-well capacity by 60% compared with the previous generation. The sensor can deliver up to 17 stops of dynamic range in a single frame and supports native 16-bit HDR capture.
The 17-stop dynamic range capability also operates automatically during standard 4K 60fps video recording, without requiring users to enable it manually.
Computational Photography: LUMO True Image Engine

The camera hardware works alongside OPPO's LUMO True Image Engine, a computational photography platform responsible for image processing, color mapping, and tonal reproduction. The system consists of three dedicated processing engines.
1. LUMO Hyper Pixel Engine
The LUMO Hyper Pixel Engine manages image resolution and detail across different shooting conditions and zoom levels.
- Default Output: Standard shooting generates images of approximately 25MP across focal lengths ranging from ultra-wide to 9.9× zoom, balancing image detail with file size.
- Low-Light Photography: The system switches to 12MP pixel-binned output in darker environments to improve signal-to-noise performance.
- High-Resolution Capture: Hasselblad Hi-Res Mode supports 50MP photography across five focal lengths, while compatible sensors support native 200MP multi-frame fusion.
- Image Processing: Algorithms focus on preserving natural skin texture and fine contrast instead of relying heavily on sharpening or smoothing.

2. LUMO True Color Engine
The LUMO True Color Engine focuses on consistent and accurate color reproduction. It combines a 24-channel multispectral sensor with Dual Conversion Gain HDR (DCG-HDR) and Dynamic Action Gain (DAG) technologies, delivering up to 15 EV of spectral dynamic range.
Hasselblad's color science is integrated into the calibration process to maintain neutral white balance, controlled saturation, and realistic skin tones, including in scenes with mixed lighting.

3. LUMO Natural Tone Engine
The LUMO Natural Tone Engine handles tonal balance by deriving its tone-curve parameters from Hasselblad Master Mode.
This approach is designed to preserve natural-looking shadows and highlights while reducing excessive shadow lifting and aggressive local tone mapping often associated with conventional smartphone HDR processing.

Video Recording and Post-Production Features
Both models feature unified video processing systems designed to maintain consistent image quality when switching between rear cameras. However, their recording capabilities differ.
- OPPO Find X10 Pro Max: Supports 4K video recording at 60fps and 120fps, along with 8K recording at 30fps across all three rear cameras, including the ultra-wide, main, and telephoto sensors.
- OPPO Find X10: Offers 4K 60fps recording across all three rear cameras. The main and telephoto cameras additionally support 4K 120fps Dolby Vision recording and 8K video at 30fps.
O-Log2 and Color Management
The series supports the O-Log2 flat gamma profile for professional video workflows at 4K 60fps, 4K 120fps, and 8K 30fps. The camera interface also includes native real-time LUT previews and the ability to apply LUTs directly to recorded footage.
These features provide greater control over color grading and help creators preview their intended visual style while recording.
Open Gate Video Capture
OPPO is introducing full-sensor 4:3 video recording through its Open Gate capture mode. Compared with conventional 16:9 recording with electronic image stabilization (EIS) enabled, the feature retains 25% more vertical capture area along the long edge and 66% more along the short edge.
The additional image area allows footage from a single recording to be cropped into landscape 16:9 or portrait 9:16 formats, making it more adaptable for different platforms and content requirements.
LUMO Lab: Imaging Calibration for Indian Conditions
OPPO has also highlighted its LUMO Lab initiative, which brings together company engineers and Indian commercial creators to refine camera processing for regional photography conditions.
Earlier testing phases examined challenging scenarios commonly encountered in India, including high-contrast festive lighting, regional architectural colors, diverse skin tones, and intricately textured fabrics.
The fourth phase took place in Kerala, bringing together global imaging executives and local photographers to evaluate the cameras under demanding movement and lighting conditions. Testing included Kathakali performances, Kalaripayattu martial arts demonstrations, and nighttime Theyyam performances illuminated by fire.
The resulting observations helped OPPO refine the baseline exposure metering, color LUTs, and HDR curves used in the production devices.
Through the combination of high-resolution sensors, Hasselblad color tuning, the LUMO True Image Engine, and region-specific calibration, the OPPO Find X10 Series aims to deliver consistent photography and advanced video capabilities across a wide range of shooting environments.
