POVA has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the POVA 8 Pro 5G in India, as it had promised. The smartphone introduces an updated design based on the brand’s “Delete Normal” design philosophy, featuring a triangular rear camera module and a secondary dot-matrix display.
The rear panel houses the Alive Matrix Display, a functional dot-matrix screen that can show battery levels, active timers, incoming notifications, and caller ID information with spam detection. It can also serve as a desk clock when the phone is placed face down.
Display and Camera Hardware

The POVA 8 Pro 5G features a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel is designed to deliver high brightness outdoors while helping reduce eye strain in low-light conditions.
For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording. AI-powered camera tools include AI Auto Zoom for automatic framing, 3D Photo effects for added depth, and Motion Trail tracking for moving subjects.
AI Call Management and Productivity
The smartphone is designed for users who frequently handle business calls and communication. It features an integrated AI assistant that POVA claims is the first built-in solution in its segment to record, transcribe, and summarize both regular cellular and WhatsApp calls.
The assistant supports English, Hindi, Bengali, and Marathi. It can automatically turn conversations into action items, organize shared files, and categorize contacts based on commercial intent and payment status, without requiring third-party applications.
