Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of its latest mid-range smartphone, the REDMI 17 5G in India, which is set to debut on September 3. The smartphone was recently introduced in global markets with slightly different specifications.
The REDMI 17 5G is positioned as a battery-focused device with upgraded hardware, while Xiaomi’s promotional teasers have revealed several details about its design, performance, and key features ahead of the official launch.
Key Features and Hardware
Processor: The Indian variant of the REDMI 17 5G will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, delivering efficient everyday performance and 5G connectivity.
Battery and Charging: One of the phone’s major highlights is its large 7,900mAh battery, designed to deliver extended usage on a single charge. It also supports fast wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to power compatible accessories and other devices.
Camera Setup: On the rear, the smartphone features Xiaomi’s updated “Astral Camera Deco” design, housing a dual-camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor. The front camera is positioned within a centrally aligned punch-hole cutout on the display.
Design and Color Options: The REDMI 17 5G comes with a textured rear panel and will be offered in three color options:
- Eternal Orange
- Endless Blue
- Absolute Black
Following its launch, the smartphone will be available through Amazon.in, mi.com, and Xiaomi’s offline retail network. Xiaomi is expected to reveal the pricing, availability details, and complete storage configurations at the official launch event on September 3.
