Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch is now official. This is a high-end affair all the way, with a rotating bezel, IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. There are two variants of the watch, the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic. The Gear S2 is more like a sports variant of the smartwatch with silicon band.
You can get the Gear S2 in either a grey dial with grey strap or a silver dial with a white strap.
While the Gear S2 Classic will come with a black case and a black leather strap to go with it. Coming to the specs, the Gear S2 sports a circular 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a 360x360 pixels display at 302PPI. It runs on a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage alongwith a 250mAh battery.
Connectivity options include WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC. There will be a 3G variant on offer as well with a larger 300mAh battery. The classic model is a bit daintier at 39.9 × 43.6 × 11.4mm and 42 grams, compared to the regular Gear S2 at 42.3 × 49.8 × 11.4mm and 47 grams. The 3G variant weighs a bit more at 51 grams due tot he larger battery.
Update 03-09-2015: The Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch is compatible with most Android smartphones running Android 4.4 KitKat or above.
