Samsung has officially expanded its One UI 8.5 beta program, rolling out the pre-release software to a broader lineup of Galaxy smartphones. After the initial phase began in March, the beta is now reaching several older flagship models, along with a mid-range device.
Devices receiving the One UI 8.5 beta -
- Galaxy S23 Series
- Galaxy Z Fold5
- Galaxy Z Flip5
- Galaxy S23 FE
- Galaxy A36 5G (the first A-series device to get the One UI 8.5 beta)
This expanded rollout is currently limited to select regions, with users in India, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States among the first to receive access.
File Sharing to Airdrop expands to more devices -

One of the key highlights of the One UI 8.5 beta is enhanced cross-platform file sharing. As part of its collaboration within the Android ecosystem, Samsung initially introduced AirDrop-like functionality through its Quick Share feature with the Galaxy S26 series. This capability is now expanding to more Galaxy S, Fold, and Flip devices.
The integration enables smoother file transfers between compatible Galaxy devices and Apple hardware. However, due to hardware and software requirements, this feature remains limited to premium models, including:
- Galaxy S25 Series
- Galaxy S24 Series
- Galaxy Z Fold7 & Z Flip7
- Galaxy Z Fold6 & Z Flip6
Enrollment and availability -
Samsung has confirmed that the beta program will continue to roll out to more Galaxy devices later this month. Users in supported regions can enroll in the program through the Samsung Members app to test the upcoming software early.
