Samsung really wants you to send the Galaxy Note 7 back, will pay you $100 more for it

Earlier this week, Samsung had stopped production and sales of the Galaxy Note 7, officially killing its flagship smartphone. Now the company wants all the phones back so that it can dispose of them safely.

So encourage users, the company is now offering $100 off the total bill for exchanging a Galaxy Note 7 for another Samsung smartphone. If you don't want to exchange it for another Galaxy device, then the company will give you $25 credit on a refund or when you buy a device from any other brand.

Samsung is voluntarily recalling all Galaxy Note 7 devices globally including all original as well as replacement devices. Moreover, the company will also directly handle return of used Note 7 devices. The program is now live in the US.

Tim Baxter, President and COO, Samsung Electronics America added:

We appreciate the patience of our consumers, carrier and retail partners for carrying the burden during these challenging times. We are committed to doing everything we can to make this right. Customers safety remains a top priority and we ask consumers with an original or replacement Galaxy Note7 to power down and take advantage of the remedies available.
