Vivo India has confirmed the launch of its latest smartphone in the V Series, the Vivo V80 in India on October 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM, following a series of teasers. The new V-Series smartphone brings upgrades across photography, display technology, battery capacity, and software, with a strong focus on AI-powered imaging.
Imaging and AI Features
The vivo V80 features a camera system co-engineered with ZEISS Optics. Its setup includes a 50 MP ZEISS OIS main camera using a Sony LYTIA 700V (1/1.56″) sensor. This is paired with a 50 MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera based on a 1/1.95″ IMX882 sensor, offering optical image stabilization, 3x optical zoom, and up to 100x zoom.
The rear camera arrangement is further complemented by a ZEISS ultra-wide-angle camera, while the front houses a 50 MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera. The front camera offers a 92° wide-angle field of view and autofocus.
For video recording, the handset supports 4K Cinematic Video as well as 4K video capture at 60 fps. vivo is also adding more than 30 AI-powered creative tools designed to expand the phone’s photography and editing capabilities.
- AI Creative Camera: Expected to offer over 30+ dedicated AI effects along with Live Sticker Collage. These features are designed to transform everyday photographs into social-ready content without requiring third-party editing applications, representing a significant creative upgrade over the outgoing V70 and V70 Elite.
- AI Diwali Portrait 2.0: An enhanced version of the festive imaging feature first popularized with the V60 series. The updated system is expected to offer improved ambient-light handling, more refined skin tones in challenging lighting conditions, and a cinematic festive glow suited to celebrations. It also optimizes elements such as warm lighting, rangoli, and toran details for Diwali-themed portraits.
- Additional AI and utility features include Pet Pals, Snap Note, and Security Shield.
Display and Design
The vivo V80 comes with a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display supporting a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and 1.07 billion colors. The panel reaches a local peak brightness of 5,000 nits and can reduce brightness to as low as 1 nit for more comfortable viewing in dark surroundings.
The display is surrounded by slim 1.25 mm bezels. On the design front, vivo has opted for a one-piece cold-carved glass rear panel accompanied by a floating camera module.
The smartphone will be offered in three color options: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue, and Stellar Black.
Battery and Charging
Powering the vivo V80 is a 7,200 mAh battery, making it the largest battery ever included in a V-Series smartphone. According to vivo, the battery can deliver up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback.
The phone supports 90W FlashCharge technology, which can charge the battery to 50% in 30 minutes when using Fast Charging Mode.
Software
The vivo V80 will be the first V-Series smartphone to ship with OriginOS 7 out of the box. The new software brings vivo’s latest interface refinements and system-level optimizations to the V-Series lineup.
Pricing and Availability
vivo will announce the pricing of the V80 during its official India launch event on October 6. Following the launch, the smartphone will be available through vivo.com, Amazon.in, Flipkart, and offline retail stores.
