The XOLO A500L comes with a dual-core processor and 512 MB RAM. Although not enough for gaming the MALI 400MP GPU can certainly churn out the framerate required to play even high-end games. Lets have a look at how the XOLO A500L performs in our Gaming Review:
Some of the games we played on the XOLO A500L were Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 4, NOVA 3, FIFA 14 and basic ones like Subway Surfers, Temple Run 2. Although the framerates weren't spectacular nor the graphics quality but considering the price of the device you get a lot more bang for your buck. Its incredulous that an entry-level budget phone can play such games with relative ease and just 512 MB RAM.
Conclusion
The XOLO A500L performed better than our expectations in the Gaming Review, even the high-end shooters and racing games worked quite well. There was no discernible lag and framerates although not high, were consistent. Keeping the price in mind and that apps as well as app data is movable to the SD card on the A500L, its gaming credentials are more than satisfactory.
However within the same price segment we have the Karbonn A12+ which performed a bit better than the XOLO A500L with higher framerates and overall smoother gameplay, even though both have pretty much the same internals.
