Android 4 4 4 Kitkat

It feels just like yesterday when we heard that both Google and Motorola were starting to roll out Android 4.4.3 KitKat to their respective Nexus and Moto devices. But now we are hearing that Android 4.4.4 KitKat is being rolled out to all Nexus devices. Why the sudden new update? Let's find out.

So, at present an OTA update, factory images for Nexus devices as well as binaries are available of the Android 4.4.4 KitKat (Build KTU84P) update. The sudden update addresses OpenSSL vulnerability issues. Even Sprint says its something to do with security. The OTA update is presently available for Nexus 5, with the other Nexus devices in line to get the update. Google Play Edition devices are expected to get the update soon as well. If you are willing to wipe your device clean, then you can install these factory images on your Nexus device as well from Google Developers.
